Simulation of administrative labour costs in seaport clusters

چکیده
The main goal of modeling and simulation in seaport clusters (and in general) is to research data and information related to behavior of the system based on research of the model, and not by direct insight into the system itself. During the next step of research, after the model is created, it is possible to perform experiments in order to gather more data regarding the existing or future state of the system. Systems can be quite diverse because they exist in different areas of interest. Inside the given area, additional systems may exist, but with a different set of goals. For the same system, different models can be devised depending on the goals, modeling approach, different means used to model and simulate, different level of knowledge of those creating the model, etc. If different systems are accounted for, a number of possible variations significantly rises. Research of the system by using the modeling requires thorough definition of questions whose answer should be derived from simulation process. Usually, the modeling inclusion criteria requires that only those aspects of the system relevant for the research are included. All other aspects are disregarded as much as possible in order to simplify the model. Modeling and simulations are usually used to research complex systems, so it is important to exclude all those elements that would make the model even more complex, but do not contribute significantly towards quality of the received answers to underlying questions. Modeling procedure consists of several sequential steps, while final two stages, simulation experiment and analysis of results are repeated until the research is completed and the data related to set model is acquired. This process is shown in Fig. 1. The model usually shows a static situation of the system at a given moment. The state of the system is represented by the state of a number of significant parameters. Simulation process is in fact a time-bound execution of the system state in a given time frame. (Smiljanić, 1995.)

Seaport cluster labour cost reduction – a modelling approach
The subject of this research are administrative processes related to a ship’s arrival to seaports, typically attributed to elevated levels of cost of labour required to complete the related administrative tasks. In the previous phases of the research, an average expected cost of the administrative labour cost in traditional seaport clusters in Croatia was identified and quantified on an hourly ...
متن کاملThe Examination of Employees Statistical Conformity from the Labour Force Survey with the Administrative Records
Programming in the employment fields is the most important and fundamental need of the country, which requires labour force indexes during the periods of time. Now, Statistical Centre of Iran, as the resource of the official statistics in the country is accountable for presenting those data, but other organizations and offices in the country present the relevant figures on this field in lower l...
متن کاملEstimation of the Number of Workers Subjected to the Labour Law
Abstract. Employees include a main part of labour force in each country. This group is so important since a long time ago, International Labour Organization has allocated lots of its indicators such as decent work ones to the group. On the other hand, the employees in Iran are subject to the various employment laws that one of them is the labour law. According to the labour law, the Ministry of...
متن کاملGame-Based Simulation for the Evaluation of Threat Detection in a Seaport Environment
The ability to simulate a seaport environment, including illicit cargo and the sensors designed to detect such cargo, allows the evaluation of alternative detection methods in order to improve security at our nation’s seaports. We describe our progress towards this goal. Specifically, we describe our modeling of threats at a particle emission level, modeling of sensors as particle detectors, mo...
متن کاملAnalyzing the Costs of Collective Actions for Political, Administrative, and Economic Agents to Facilitate Investment
The processes of collective action of individuals within the government organization and the formation and modification of these processes in the private sector have fundamental differences with collective action. A collective action, either in the form of an activity or in the form of a reform of an entity, both has transaction costs for agents within the process. So, a collective action withi...
